First Tube Build - which kit?

If you use a VTA-120 120 Watt amplifier to drive a 101dB/Watt speaker system . . .
and the ground on the input connector comes loose

1. You may be going to the Ear Doctor. Tinnitus.

2. You may need a new woofer voice coil.

And, if you are driving inefficient MBL Radialstrahller speakers . . .
You may be needing some Hernia Surgery.

My first tube amplifier build was a Bob Latino VTA ST-70 (after having completed an ACA and F6) - probably overkill for your sensitive speakers but the kit was well-documented and approachable for a first-time tube builder like me.

Most importantly for me at the time, the kit came with everything (tubes, transformers, chassis, parts) - I didn't want to shop around or do any chassis work.

After getting that under my belt my next tube project was a scratch build; without having completed the VTA ST-70 I would not have had the confidence to attempt it.

Best of luck finding and building your first tube kit, keep us posted as to your decision and progress.
