Here is my latest video, with a tune. i just added 2 more panels to test what i wanted to test.
It uses 2 Bass panels a side and a d'appolito mid/tweeter combo i once made for somethign else.
The idea is a point source planar. witch i think never has been done. at least i could not find any. the easy way is making a line source or a half line source. in any case never symmetrical 🙁
Th rest of the building can be find here
Part 1 Frame
Part 2 Building second frame
Part 3 Making the foils
Part 4 stretching the foils
Part 5 Demo with 3 tunes.

You do such a nice job in making these foils you could teach Magnepan something looking at their old school method
of doing the same

Are the panels effective centre-to-centre less than a quarter wavelength at the XO (needed to be a true point source).
I have seen this done commercially with mid/tweeter.

Unfortunately not quarter wave, i read allot of posts some said half wave length some say 1 wavelength some a quarter. yes the smaller the better but one runs into trouble quickly. as in physically impossible without making it a 5 way speaker. i drawn a line in max 3 ways and tried to make them as small as possible for there working frequency. its not perfect by any means. but far better then the usual planar magnetic line source. (that more often then not is not a true line source)Are the panels effective centre-to-centre less than a quarter wavelength at the XO (needed to be a true point source).

We have made a number of 2-ways that maintain the quarter wavelength spacig requirement, and sounds really good.

I am here to make some noise... 🙂 Listened to the first video via my Sony MDR-1AM2 headphones (which are awesome for the price) and didn't expect that performance. Sounds tight with good transient structure and some of the bass notes have some energy behind it. This make me curious what I am missing not listening live.
