Can you measure the voltage across the 0.15ohm resistors (all of them)? This should help us track down where that 0.9A is going.
Your schematic didn't say what you're connecting the 'mute' input to - obviously this might be related to the lack of sound...
I have a TDA7250 amp knocking around; I can measure some quiescent voltages on it for comparison if it'll help.
