Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to ask.
I'm interested in building a new pre & power amplifier, however, cost and size are a problem.
I don't see many people discussing building integrated amplifiers based on the DIY boards available at the store, it seems this would be a good way of saving money (only one case, only one transformer with multiple outputs).
What are the major problems with this? presumably noise and actually getting it all in the case? are they show stoppers?
I was considering the Mezmarise B1 preamp and the F5 power amp in a 4U case.
Finally i assume that adding a phono pre-amp is a step too far? more sensitive circuitry in an already tight case?
Thanks for any input you can offer.

If careful of placement, I say go for it. That being said, most put linestage separate from the power amplifier when building Firstwatt clones. If using efficient speakers you may get by with just pots.
