Those are sexy!
I also like the deviation from the black monolith boxes we are so accustomed to. Not that they're bad, but I am starting to appreciate more the aesthetic of more WAF friendly speakers. Reminds me of how big old speakers looked like furniture. I assume they were more welcome in the house back then partially due to this pleasant look.
I am curious how the 10" and the B52 end up mating as I think this is a combo I would like to pursue also.

Stunning work. Your crossover points look good, the finish is just right and I agree with you, I like both the grille on and off. Happy listening!
Thank you, I'm glad you like my project.thank you, I'm glad you like my project.
The combination of the 10PR320 with the B52 horn is easy to implement, this horn with the Faital HF108 provides a very very pleasant sound, no fatigue, it is a soft sound that is present and alive at the same time.
Regards.

Hello Vilayez,
Congratulations with your great build! Well done.
I am thinking of using the 10PR320 in my new 3 way design too. It will be the 18N862 for bass (they are left over from another - cancelled - project), 10PR320 for midrange and still looking for a nice horn + cd driver to pair with. Thinking of the HF108R + LTH102.
What is your impression of the 10PR320 since your last post, still satisfied? Can you recommend it as a midrange for a large 3 way?
Thanks in advance for sharing your opinion!
Regards.
Very satisfied after almost a year of its construction. I find it a speaker that provides a very natural sound, and I think it is an excellent option in a 3 way system.
This 18N862 is a monster

Thanks for your reply!
Two things to decide for me then, which horn to mate with the HF108R and the 10 or 12PR320. The 12 inch will blend better with the 18 inch woofer probably.
Enjoy the music!

Hi,
This sentence leads me to a newbie question. While I think understand the constrains behind midrange/tweeter matching (breakup, distorsion and especially directivity matching in order to have a smooth directivity all along frequencies).
Between woofer and midrange, if you plan to xo around 150 and 200Hz, it is almost non directional ? Hence directivity is not a constrain ?
If distorsion of midrange is low from 100Hz, why the "blend" would be better between your 18inch and a 12 or 10 or 8 inch ?
I suppose bigger means more spl with low distorsion but this is not a matching constrain. Thanks for your explanation to a beginner.
Btw, very beautiful speaker !

Hi,
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you the theory behind it, I’m a beginner as well, but my ears heard once a design from a friend which was using the 10pr320 and 12pr320 with an 18 inch faital woofer (don’t know the exact type) in the design phase. At that time it was clear for me that the 12 inch blended better. Would like to know if this is really because of the smaller transition when there is less difference in membrane area.

Hi Vilayez,
Very impressive system. One question: why is the enclosure ported as well as stuffed?
Thanks and Regards,
WA

In bass reflex speakers, the filling can also modify the final response.
With filling the impedance curve varies, it can attenuate small resonances and make the frequency of resonances can be a little lower.
Regards.
I agree, ported systems often don't have enough stuffing.
Ok I understand that reflex is trying to get the most bass and you want to have minimal bass damping, but if it is not enough to deal with box modes then there is a problem.
