Here's a snap of one with white paint overspray. It looks like they were behind ceiling grilles that painters didn't bother to mask off. It's a very thin coat, and I doubt it makes a measurable change in the T/S parameters. Could be sprayed with black to restore their looks or use behind grilles.
The non-painted ones look, well, non-painted. Nothing to see there--no damage, marks, etc. (I can post a pic if you really want to see it.) One of them has a slight bend in a basket edge that would probably disappear when bolted to a baffle.
