Using the single-opamp phono stage cct from the Lidstrom link (lifted from the datasheet of the LT1028 IIRC) as a starting point but running a x10 on all the feedback resistor values and a /10 on all the cap values to increase the gain, I've finally got a battery powered MC to line level phono stage built. Input load is 100R instead of 47K.
This first prototype is using bog standard metal films and MKT polyester caps and the dreaded NE5534 but it seems to work fine.
In time I'll do a proper buildup using the AD797, with some nice polyprops in the network and maybe some Caddock or Mills.
For now, I'm just happily listening.
Just wanted to let you folks know that this schematic could be stretched *that* far while still giving good results.
