Likewise, and as I said, I've nothing against small companies etc. Quite the reverse, as you know Dave. 😉

Personally, I have no house of my own, or income of any kind whatsoever at present, so I know the feeling WRT financial problems. My point was simply that if someone is seeking advice for a commercial speaker on a DIY forum, then it should be stated clearly from the start that it is a potential commercial project, so people can make an informed decision about whether or not to contribute. Problem is you see, that you are 100% correct -there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here, and on some other forums, and sadly, there are even more people out there who traul forums for data they can exploit, or even, cabinet designs to steal. Sad but true. Dave & I nearly got hit with that last year. So you will, I hope, forgive my exercise of caution.

Of course, if, as Dave says, knowledge & ideas are being shared in a 2 way process, then I too, wholeheartedly encourage you. The audio industry needs more small companies out there, given the state the big commercial brigade have got themselves into. I'd just like there to be that clear disclosure at the begining, so people have a choice! Fair comment?

Very fair. I certainly don't want to steal anyone's designed and I checked with mr. McBean to make sure he didn't have a problem with us using his software for commercial purposes. I am a DIYer and at so far all of our projects have been for our own use. But my friend has a commercial cabinet shop and everyone that heard the first speakers we built (Frugel horn, Bruce horn) absolutely loved the sound and as many of them were Doug's costomers our first thought was to build some to sell. Of course we wanted to come up with our own designs before trying to sell them. I don't hesitate to share everything I do and discover with everyone else here so I didn't feel I was out of line asking opinions and questions of everyone else. I'm not so arrogant to think any of my designs are particularly original so I guess if someone else built my design and sold it I wouldn't care. But I can certainly understand and respect anyone who feels differently and I definitely don't intend to do that myself. Besides, designing them myself is just way too much fun! So in the future if a design is for a commercial purpose I will be sure to say so from the outset.
