Ok, well I have joined the many of you interested in building a projector for far less than the retail versions. I've acquired an nView Spectra C for $70 off of ebay. Also I picked up a nice light source of the can put out about 10.5K lumens of light. The light cost me about $12 from walmart. The key to it is its brightness, while being a halogen light, its bright enough that it appears very white. Onto my question. I'm looking into getting the msot out of this light without melting the LCD panel. I'm thinking that I may water proof the casign of the light and submerge the back end into an enclosed tank of water and possible have a pump on it as well. I'll of course have atleast 2 fans and possibly 4 blowing across the LCD screen as well. Lastly, I'm thinking to get a more direct light, I'm wondering about using fiber optics. I've included a rough diagram of how it would look.
