I got a nice 15" Acer panel for $40 on some forums, but it had two PCBs hooked via a FFC. Well i pulled it out and tried to solder it, and well I didn't have the skill or tools.
Now I have a fully functioning LCD but no cable. One end is a simple ZIFF FFC MOLEX, the other end however was glued,or so it seemed glued, so all thats left is just the bare contacts.
Now its too late to just extend it, how could i get another cable to glue down onto the contacts, THEN extend it(yes,i destroyed the original 🙁 )? What parts will I need?
I will upload some pictures of the situation in a moment.

here are some pictures.
I just got my projector and found out this LCD is too big. I know its worth a lot more to the person who knows how to fix it but its useless to me. First $40 takes it, I have the full frame, and VGA/Power PCB and adapter. I'd prefer to find someone in new england so I don't have to package this fragile stuff.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

parts to fix it
You might be able to find a surface mount FFC socket that could be soldered to that strip of gold contacts. Then you could use a male/male FFC cable to connect the two boards together.
Digikey and Mouser both sell such sockets. You would need to measure the pitch of the contacts so you could order the right one. If you had the parts in hand, you could take it to someplace that repairs computers or stereos to get it soldered.
