Few questions about T-Amp. (mainly tweaks & transfo)
Hi!
I have two Sonic Impact T-Amps on the way 😀 But I was wondering, what possible tweaks are there? I'll probably buy a 12V 1.5amp transformer, and probably change the box and connectors, but beside that, is there anything else to do?
Are there any easy tweaks, like changing resistances, capacitors, etc? What about adding a headphone jack? Is there a gain to buy a transformer with more amps than 1.5? Sorry if its been asked before, I'm at work and I'll be able to search more in detail only tonight.
Could someone just shoot me possible tweak pages, threads?
Thanks! 🙂

Do a Google search for the SI T-AMP mods, there are plenty out there and also some very good ones, here on this forum!
Whether the tweaks are easy or not depends on your experience. Basically, the PCB in the T-AMP is not designed for tweaking so you have to be extremely careful!
The best power for these amps supply is an SMPS of the sort that you can read about here . You should be able to source something similar in the USA if you don't want to order from the UK. 😉

Dope! I placed the Parts Express order on saturday (2 T-Amps + bunch of other stuff), they called me monday to confirm the shipping address, then sent me an email yesterday night to tell me that my 460$ order was shipped, only I had ordered for around 540$.....
Turns out they ran out of stock after I placed my order... So instead of waiting to ship complete, they shipped part of my order, and now if I want to get the two T-Amps, I have to place NEW order, and once again pay the BIG $ for shipping... With my original order, the 2 T-Amps were like 2$ to ship, on their own, they're 20$
So no T-Amps for me
Btw, anyone know where I could buy some in Canada? Or, anybody would interested in a Montreal/Canada T-Amp group buy?

Do you have any lawyers in your country? 😀
I would say that when they accepted your order, they entered into a legally binding contract when they accepted the order and must supply you with what was on that original order!

ThinkGeek ships internationally, and they have t-amps in stock atm 😉. They were a major international source of T-amps not too long ago.

do you have an iron and know how to solder?
if so, look into an AMP6 kit (or AMP3 if you feel like doing surface mount components and saving a few bucks) from Jan and have some fun building one yourself! add a power supply, some input/output/power connectors, a case, and you're good to go.

there are a couple other tripath kits available as well. search around this forum and you'll find them.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
