Hey im attendig to a festival and im doing a build.

Im using a TPA3116 100W+2*50W Class D Amplifier Board.
With som speakers i have laying around.
( A pair of Sony 60W with tweeters and a sub)

Thing is i'll be gone for 5 ish days and i want the speaker to last.
What kind of battery would you guys suggest?
(space aint really a problem, the box is big)
And how to hook it up the right way. Im new to this so i wouldnt know. The festival is in a couple of weeks so i dont think the internet is going to be my main part provider, so easy access stuff would be great!

Any help or tips around this build? Im clueless with the powersupply stuff

Hi, the battery needs to supply between 18 and 24 volts, so two 12v in series would most likely be best. Then you need to work out how many hours you are going to be playing it and at what average current consumption, 3amps max by the look of it. Battery capacity it rated in Amp hours (Ah), so from that you can work out how long it will last

Hi
but you would find you do much better than that unless you propose to run it at absolute max near clipping volume for most of the time .. very efficient amps and varied source music loud but not near clipping will probably yield almost twice what you expect by a the fag packet calculation above (from experience).
in case that helps?

Get some compact solar panels to charge the batteries, and a multimeter for overvoltage supervision, if it goes above 14.4V per 12V lead acid battery you will have to turn music louder!! haha

Yes, a small compact solar panel with built in charger will help.

I have a little "picnic blaster" system using one of those TPA3116 50W+50W+100W 2.1 amps and some cheap ebay car speakers and it is a lot of fun.

I use a 120W "laptop car power adapter" as a voltage doubler to drive the amp but it also runs OK at 12V, but quieter.

My solar panel is only 5W so it isn't enough to replace the loss, but maybe it at least helps extend the life of the sounds on a sunny day. if I had a 20W solar panel it would be great on a sunny day I think.

I haven't ever run it for more than a few hours on battery though.
