Hey guys, i want to buy a PA System to use primarily for voice but sometimes i will use to plug my acoustic guitar and sometimes to play music in house party with about 100 to 200 people.
I was looking for something and i found these tree products:
- Fender Passport 300 PRO PA System with Mixer and Speakers
- Fender Passport Event
- Yamaha StagePAS 400i
In Amazon all of them are about in the same price.
Which one is better? Someone have another suggestion of PA System?
Thanks 🙂

Basically you get what you pay for but I think Yamaha has the edge in budger design. Have you looked at Behringer?
You won't cover 200ppl with anything but highly distorted background noise with either of these systems, they're simply nowhere remotely close to powerful enough. A single powered Yamaha DXR12 or 15 would quite literally blow these systems away, I generally trust Yamaha specs but I just don't see an 8" two way speaker producing that much output with 180w/ch.

Obviously it's a 'portable' system, but I see no problem with 200 people - you're just not going to be deafening them 😀
Don't expect gut rumbling bass either - but for a vocal or acoustic set it would be adequate, or for simple party music.
Personally I'd sooner be at a party where you can actually speak to people 😀
I forgot to say that i am looking for a portable System, because i am from Brazil and i am staying in US for one year and want to bring the speakers with me when i come back.
The Yamaha StagePAS 400i is not so portable, but i've found a good case for carry it.

Behringer has the EUROPORTs Speakers, but i didn't see good reviews about them. =/

Nigel. I agree that one of these portable system would be fine to entertain with an acoustic guitar inside your average home, but the OP said something about 100-200 people and that won't fit inside your average house so maybe it includes backyard parties too. I do parties this size all the time and I bring a much more powerful system and it's far from being overkill. 100+ people in a room all talking at the same time generates 100dB and the speakers would need to be generating 118dB@1m just to get over top of that at 8m from the speakers. That would pretty much max out theYamaha Stagepas system linked above.
I purchased the Fender 300 setup and found it fine for small groups, under 12-15. In larger rooms it becomes lost.
I then purchased the Yamaha system and can handle a room of up to 35. Maybe 50 with excellent speaker placement. I think the Yamaha has an advantage.
the Yamaha really produces a clean musical sound. Not much for base though.

I currently own the Fender and the Yamaha 600I. The systems your looking at barely work for a room of 30-50. The 600I will work well but won't have much bottom end. I would recommend that you either buy more system or save your money.
Hope this helps. Tom

Buy a small mixer and 2 "real" 15"+horn powered speakers .
The Passport class systems were originally invented to be a very easy to transport sound system for Business presentations (coupled to an LCD projector) , lightweight for their performance but mainly in a revolutionary, grab and go package, which easily fits any car ... but said Business presentations have a very quiet audience.
They happen to be just enough for light PA duty but as soon as acoustic power and coverage needs rise, they fall flat on their nose, sorry.
200 people parties? Brazilian people at that? 😉 No way José 😉
