I have about a 10 year old hot rod deluxe and it sounds great but I have problems with a crackling noise when I turn up or down the volume and the same issue with the drive nob. Once the nobs are set, the amp is fine, its just when adjusting the nobs and the rest of the nobs go up and down without the crackle. Does anyone know what this could be? Dirty pots? Other? Thanks in advance!
99% of the time it is just dirt, and a can of Deoxit works wonders. Once in a great while it will be DC voltage on the pots. But that is even less likely if the problem is on two pots.
