I built a 5E4 from an old Wurlitzer organ amp and I left the power supply as is so my voltage is quite a bit higher. It sounds good and I am not concerned about the voltage or tone being different than a real 5E4, I just want to check with those here with more knowledge if the higher voltage is ok with this circuit or is it a bad thing? I have 444v at the OT, 438 at 6L6 pin 3, 397 at pin 4, 340 at the PI, and 300 at the preamp.
Fender Twin reverb, Peavey 5150, oh and lots of others have 500v on 6L6 plates. So why wouldn't less than 450v in yours be OK?
The amp is full of coupling caps, so they all need to be of sufficient voltage rating.
Measure the idle current through the power tubes, you might find a need to adjust the bias level.
It works and sounds good? Great! Enjoy your amp.
