The biggest bass notes I ever heard were from a set of Klipsch "La Sals" (Not La Scala) back in the seventies. Huge speakers made for doing concerts and such. Driven with a true 80W RMS. The bass drum felt like the report of a high powered rifle on a rifle range. Never saw or could find any further information on the speakers. Just remember they were very large horn speakers. Memory says they were about 5-6 ft wide by 6 ft tall. Maybe 4-5 ft deep. Clearly remember spec at 105db/W. @ 1M

Any locals been to Jiffy Lube Live? (Was Nissan Pavilion) They'll crank it up there; the speaker towers are 50' tall each. Can't hear for about 1 -2 hours after the show; which I don't think is a good idea.

When I was building my "fireplace sub" (used an old electric fireplace as the cabinet) I tested it by laying it on its back to semi seal it since the back of the enclosure was not in place. It transferred a lot of energy to the floor that way. 😀
