It appears diyaudio.com have a lot of users engaged with acoustics and so I wanted to ask your feedback or opinion on this music equipment project we're developing right now called The Auug Motion Synth. This app is integrated with an iPhone or iPod touch and has a variety of uses, one of which is demonstrated in this 1 minute video:
Violin sound played expressively via the Motion Synth - YouTube
In this video the Auug Motion Synth is controlling Chet Singer's 'Serenade' ensemble within Reaktor (Native Instruments), running on a Macbook Pro. The iOS device used was an iPod touch (5th generation) The Wifi connection between the device and the macbook pro is operating in 'ad hoc' mode: a direct WiFi connection that does not require any extra hardware or software. Would you consider using this kind of device? Or would you stick to what you are using right now?

Well it's certainly a cool idea, don't know if I hav the knowledge base to implement it tho, nor do i Hav an I phone or a mac, but I'm sure anyone with an idea of how to use midi may do well with this device. I really do like the idea.
as a music control interface it's awesome but you may want to post the idea on musician forums to get the feedback your looking for.
most of the folks(but not all)around here either press play or cue the vinyl

Think wireless Theremin, very cool, but I never mastered the Theremin I built many years ago.
I don't think I would use one myself. I have several MIDI controllers including a recently acquired Ableton Push, but I think the device demonstrated here is of a rather narrow focus and requires considerable skill. Someone that already plays a fretless instrument would do well, but some of us need fixed notes and a pitch bend wheel.
