Feebay

I'm really disappointed with the new "managed money" policy at ebay. Now they will not send money to PayPal, but want to totally control it and want your bank account number to send money to. IN THIS AGE of cyber security, I don't want my account given to anyone. With the selling fee's they are asking, it may be time to say goodby. To bad, I've been with them since the beginning.

Every time I sell something on Ebay I regret it when I see the fee they are charging. There are enough websites here that do it for less (until Ebay buys them as they don't like competition).

It is like often: a startup and everything gets slowly improved and fees are small, when grown large then things change.

It had been a number of years since I had sold on ebay, so I was shocked how much they stole from me a few months ago when I sold a pile of video cards that I no longer needed.

I'll be selling as much as I can on my local buy and sell sites or via forums from now on. It'll take longer to move stuff, but I am not eager to give ebay more of my money.

I'm plenty exasperated with them as well. I went and created an on line bank account (didnt want to walk into a B&M location during the pandemic) to accommodate their taking away Paypal.

I gave them the routing and account number. Of course, "there's a problem", so I have to page through some automated account verification process, which, of course, fails at the end - even after I successfully log into my new account through it. Sigh...

Probably because the account has zero dollars in it. They cant do a money grab for whatever reason they see fit because there's nothing there. I'm not dumb enough to just hand them the keys to my main bank castle. I'm sure they'd never fat finger some debit that I'd then have to go chase down...

I paid instantly and the seller reported me as "no pay" after I started harassing him about getting my order, which I did after a couple weeks (New York to Chicago).

So I did one transaction with Playmepal, paid instantly, and now I'm blackballed from Playmepal. There were no checks and balances to even verify who was telling the truth, no recourse.

By the time I decided to give the seller a bad rating, it was too late. After about a year Playmepal tried to get my money back from his account to give it back to me. Guess what? You guessed right.

That's why it's their fault. :cuss: They're nothing but a bunch of thieving dirty rat bastards.

And now they're charging higher fees to rip you off and on top of that they want your bank account details? They can't even be trusted with $700. They have to be joking.

This is how I get my money's worth from companies that rip me off. It is my intention to cost them a whole lot more than $700 in business. It never pays to shaft the customer!

Of course ebay takes a good chunk but so do everyone else in the e-commerce game.
Is Amazon to a seller any better? most of us are buyer using Amazon. They peddle the same crap as ebay does, who knows there $ model.
Paypal is taking there chuck, so are the banks, Visa etc. Now ebay wants to take what Paypal was getting. What is wrong with that? We'll see if the rates are higher or lower than what Paypal charges. I need to do some more diggin or figurin. As a seller I frankly do not give a rats a$$ if ebay bumps the rates up or down, I just transfer that cost to the buyers = big bad world
I sell on ebay because what other options do I have? that does not require one to pay out for a service, be it a web site, domain name hosting, web site development, maintenance. Crap I am listing these expenses and I do not have any experience. Think about what it takes to market, sell, mfg, ship, support a product.

I got my warning letter today from ebay to register, within the month or they will suspend the listings, plain and simple. business crash and burn.

It took me about a half hour to set it up. I created a new bank account, jump through all the hoops = real simple. No whining process.

ebay clearly states that this is multi-purpose change. They are focusing on government forces with regard to Anti-money laundering and allowing more payment options for the likes of Apple pay, all that phone pay crap that I do not like etc.
Yes I am concerned, that is why I set up a separate bank account. I'll see if ebay tries to rip me off any more or continue to send me $. ebay told me about this happening two years ago. it took ebay this time to convince the banks that they can be trusted, so we'll see how it all plays out.
So I guess I can continue to rip people off, as ebay sellers are labeled as, over and out.
