FE206E, improving the freq. responce

I have coated my FE206E in the hope of reducing the peak centered at 2.7khz.

Well it made no difference to that peak, but it reduced the minor peak centered at 900 hz which did improved the sound quiet a bit.

So my FE206E still have a small peak at 550hz and the large one at 2.7khz.

Does anyone have an idea how to reduce the peak at 2.7khz?
 
My own measurements show only a small peak at 2.7 KHz,
not much taller than surrounding ones. RLC networks with the
R, L and C in parallel and the result in series with the speaker
is a popular way of reducing peaks in Fostex speakers. You
can see my data in the current source amp/speaker article on

which has a response and impedance curve. Modeling up a
network for it would not be too difficult.

i still think the most worthwhile tweak i made to the smaller cousin of the 206e (the 166e) was adding a "socket" phase plug a la Steve Deckert. It subtly (subjectively) reduces peaking but improves off axis response and makes the driver more listenable
