If you plan on putting your speakers into corners BIBs are great! They fatten up the bass and have that dynamic back horn sound. BIBs offer great jump factor and a large sound stage. I think it's a great match for the 166e and many other Fostex drivers. If you are not putting them into corners a subwoofer will help fill out the bass.
Problem with back horn speakers is that they spoil you for more typical boxed speakers. I became accustomed to that dynamic back horn sound and large sound stage so it's difficult to go back to regular speakers.
Also, 15" woofers spoil you for bass... don't put them in your listening room unless you are serious about keeping them there... you'll find yourself rearranging the furniture.
