I built a pair of these last week. I had the plan for a few years, found after doing a search for the fe103 on Japanese sites.
I bought wood for a pair of BIB's but got sidetracked🙂
They sound quite good, I'm using a FE103E for the front speaker and RS 40-1197 for the internal driver.
They are designed for the FE103M.
Just another choice for the FE103 drivers. These I plan to veneer and put on my desk as monitors and perhaps another pair for my vacation home.

i'm interested in building a pair so i followed the link, i can follow the plans but the language.?. did you use any kind of xover or filter components? also what did you do about damping mtl? it would also be great if you could post a pic or two.
I can't read it either😀
I used no filters / crossover. No damping either. Strangely enough (for me) when I put them together without any damping material at first I did not think they needed any.
I could take a few pics, maybe later. They are not beautiful or anything, just a gaudy Burl Walnut Formica speaker.

Did you see this?

thanks for your reply, i'll play w/damping maybe. the link takes me to a 'sparkling sale' and japanese yahoo, but no speaker stuff.
The link worked earlier today i.e when I posted it.
scroll down to the second diagram in the link in my original post and a line or two above that diagram is a link to a simulation.

Geocities links gack out when there's too much traffic. Ironic, when people want to see it, that's when you can't.Andrewbee said:The link worked earlier today i.e when I posted it.
Cool design, I like stuff that isn't standard.
