FCC... but with a new twist

I stripped a LiquidVideo 15" monitor, mounted it in it's frame, ripped the a short fcc connector once, re-soldered it, and epoxied the solder (not socket) connection to prevent it from ripping off the board again. LCD worked fine. Then while testing it in the frame, ripped it again. I think I just need an extension to be rid of this horrible problem. But there's a twist in this story. This isn't a normal "where can I get and fcc extension" story, I know that Mouser and Digikey both stock them. My problem is that my extension is ELEVEN (11) pins. Now where can I get an extension with an odd number of pins? Mouser and Digikey only have even numbered ones. Should I just get a 12 pin, hack off the ends of the 12th connection, and hope for the best? Or does someone know of an odd numbered fcc extension supplier?

Thanks so much!

get the right one!

Make sure you order the right FFC to start with: You are describing a 1.0 mm pitch cable. Not the much more common 0.5 mm pitch.

No reason why you couldn't get a 12 conductor FFC and cut one circuit off at each end.
