And whether you agree in the Direct Interpolation method in the next thread (I'm not too sure I'm convinced, but haven't tried it), there's lots of useful info on the TDA1541, arguments about NOS versus Oversampling, and all kinds of other stuff to form opinions about 😉. With this thread, and the 1541 datasheet, I managed to build my first DAC, so a fairly good introduction to the chip at least:

Playstation as cd player...
it's located here. 2693 posts and still (slowly) growing. I have a stack of these (Cal this is not pandering to sell any of them, cause I wanna work on all of them and maybe even make myself the "ultimate Greystation"
These things are almost dumb simple, but are very robustly constructed, and easy to modify to get sounding very good with little or no money spent to do so. After that, the sky's the limit...
If it's good enough for Bernard Salabert, it's probably good enough for me....
