My new Chinese ClassT/D amp is faulty on one channel. Something in the back of my rig popped and exploded but my wife heard it and wasn't sure if it came from the power point or the amp itself. Nothing happened to any of my other amps just the Chinese one.
Immediately after this on the front of the amp the "mute" light indicator came on the side which was already showing a significantly less power output with the light indicators when playing. What I mean is the row of lights on this side was one bar less then the other side and still is.
Now, the amp is playing but I can prove that one side is playing my sub with one note bass. As soon as you go the good side the tightness is just something else. I can guarantee this is no a figure of my imagination there really isn't any other way i can describe the fault. Even at full range its playing but i feel that its playing backwards with the bass notes and nothing like the other side.
Anyway, can this be fixed by an amateur? And is the problem obvious and something obvious I can check?

Give us details of the amplifier together with good pictures from all angles and the underside of the board. Attach them to the post as Attachments so that they can be magnified to look at the components.
Explain exactly how the power supply was attached to the board and the voltage applied. Give details of how the signal and speaker wires are attached to the amp board.
Did you smell any burning after it popped?

Well the sub woofers are attached with Neutrik speakon cables. The amplifier is connected to a power conditioner but with an extension cord as there isn't enough sockets left on the conditioner. The power conditioner is connected to another extension cord which is then connected to the main socket.
I did not smell anything after the pop.
I have attached photos, unfortunately the files were to large so I only managed to add a few but this way you can tell me what to zoom into and I will take more pictures of that area.
The amp is a little intricate for me to check it out to see anything out of ordinary I wouldn't know where to start. Plus I am not sure of the amount of voltage left inside otherwise I would pull it apart and take even closer photos.
I am presuming its best to take to a professional but I doubt I would find anyone who has experience with class T/D amps in the country I reside in.
Anyway, any advice is appreciated.

Well, if I cant add photos how will I manage fixing the amp.
I can't figure out why I cant attach photos i tried through the advance screen to the attachments and the files were to large. Then I reduced the number of pictures and it said waiting so I waited the pop up box closed and I saved and nothing was attached to the post.
The other way to add photos is use a 3rd party host site. I use Imgur which is free. I use a laptop to do this. I have not done it with a smart phone. The pics are taken with the phone and uploaded to the laptop, then I open Imgur and upload them to Imgur.
If you get that far then post in here and I can tell you how to get the pics on here from Imgur.
Regards
Rob.

It occurred to me that the connection to the Subwoofer may have caused problems and why it popped. When connecting a BTL amp to a sub you should leave the ground floating.

How do you know the amp is BTL?
And just to understand correctly when you say leave the ground floating you mean to have a floating ground right?
Ive got the images in Imgur, i think i need to grab the HTML image URl but not sure where to insert it in the post....
Go to the images and click "Direct Link Copy" See image below.
Make a new post on here and click the add attachment and paste the Imgur link in. Do one for each picture and they should appear here.
OR you can add the pictures as an attachement if they are stored in the device you use to post on here. i.e your picture library

Its still saying remote file is to large. But the its just a standard phone camera photo.
There is not really any more help I can give you. Are you sending these direct from your phone? If so are you able to upload them to a PC or Laptop and try from there?

The amplifier was connected to a low out of a analogue crossover I thought ill let you know about that as well. The photo of the front of the amp is there to so you can see the mute light indicator that was what was on for a while perhaps you know what that means.
It would also be great if anyone can tell it looks like a descent amplifier?

Great to see the pics. However it is not one of the Class D amps you usually see on here, nor one that I have seen before. Hopefully somebody else may be along to give an opinion.
I see no one else has replied to this. You could ask the moderators to move it to the Class D section, which is where it should be really.

How do I go about doing that?
And yes its a Class T/D so how much different it is than a standard class D I don't know.
I mean, I can't even get in contact with the company they don't have an email although they do have a number I can call. I am not sure what there policy would be in terms of warranty.
But it looks like a descent amp, I am not an expert but the overall weight is over 25kg.
I would suggest you contact say Mooly or Pano who are moderators and should be able to move it for you.
