Faulty Audiolab 8000P

I have aquired an old Audiolab 8000P and it is rather faulty.

On one channel it has a diode that is illuminated RED? some special Zener gadget?
T
he other channnel has two resistors that tend to fry after 30 seconds R145 and R144. I have removed all 8 power transistors and wound the amp up on a variac and it pulls 230ma for about 30 secs and then these two resistors fry.

I have pulled out and tested every transistor and diode and they all show ok?

I am thinking it may be easier to put it in the bin and get something less complex but I hate to give up. Audiolab themsleves were not helpful and refused manuals or circuit digram. Not a firm to buy from in future I think.
Any help would be great.
thanks
Phil

Hola...

I have a schematic thanks to a previous post/thread.. All of the components have values assigned but no r1,c1,q1,etc...What are the value of the resistors and what other component are they near or points they go between??? or maybe a schematic with more info???

Regards, Elwood

I was hoping for a reply to my post. I dont actually see that I have had one? I have an 8000P not an 8000A they are totaly different animals.

Perhaps scrapping it is the right idea instead of asking about it.

I have been told before that no one actually knows much about these complex amplifiers except the company themselves who will repair it albeit a very high price. thanks anyway.
regards
Phil
