Perhaps we should change the title to "discontinued transistors that you want but can't get".
No, please read post #15
I found some 2SA1403E / 2SC3597E
There's a minimum order, so I would prefer to buy a few dozen off some DIY member, but they are available.
I am still open to recommendations for more convenient alternatives.
Best wishes
David

Where? Where? Inquiring minds want to know.
Rochester has a few thousands in stock of the 800 MHz / TO-126 2SA1403E and 2SC3597E. They will only quote prices by email so I sent a request this morning. Their MOQ is usually $100 per line item.
Mark, I know that the site says $100 per line item, but I was informed here on this site that
they accept orders where the total order is $100. Have not tried it but I am planning to.

2SA1433/2SC3504 Sanyo, in TO92L package so 900mW & 50mA max, but typical Co only 1.7/1.0pF (at 10Vce). Ft is 700MHz at 10mA. But like high voltage Sanyo, suffer some Pseudo Saturation.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

For me it appears to be $250 per line 😡.
I'm told that you should do a request for quote, with whatever you want per line.
I'd probably try to do at least 10s and 20s per line with a total of at least $100
then send in the RFQ. I'm told that this works with them.
And please don't clean them out of these parts, I want to buy some soon.

My recollection was also that they did a $100 minimum, but as noted, it now seems to be $250.
Perhaps coincided with the new website, launched 1st March, damn, missed by a few days.
Hence my search for more convenient options, or to buy a few from a DIY member.
Do you wish to sell any of your 2SA1407/2SC3601?
Alternatively, is there any interest in a group buy?
5 x $50 each?
Best wishes
David

If it really is $250 per line item, you'd need 10 x $50 for a $500 total.
I only have 4 right now that I bought years ago when there was talk
of them going away so I don't really have any to sell.
Took another look at the data sheet, noticed that they have excellent
SOA, I'd probably take $50 worth total.

Also notice that those are E grade not the highest F grade, still good enough.
The 4 I have are also E.

Yes, I already mentioned that.
I found some 2SA1403E / 2SC3597E with minimum hFE of 100.
The data sheet had a code for F but that doesn't mean they were available.
There appear to be no F bin for any of the fast Sanyo transistors.
Even the F bin 2SA1381/2SC3503 were rare, and they are slower, the yield of F for the faster transistors must drop close to zero.
So I wouldn't hold out for F bin.
Best wishes

These are not too expensive.. are widely available, 2SA1538/2SC3953.
And they meet all those high speed requirements.

Ordering from Rochester is discussed in this thread:

Mark Johnson - wondering if you have any opinion on what's going on with the hfe ranking
on the KSC1845 and comp as discussed in that thread, it seems that they've changed their
system.
