Thought I would make any UK enthusiasts aware of my selling of a 3M 5300 LCD projection panel on eBay. I am only selling the panel because I'm moving out to travel the world for a year and have no storage for the array of bits and pieces I have gathered during my involvement in the DIY LCD projection scene. You can view my auction here. I have provided good pictures in the auction.
I am also considering selling a few other pieces. I am open to offers on these items:
8" PCX lens f=400mm : [Perfect for lounge projection with a sub 15" LCD panel]. Being so large, spherical/chromatic aberration is nominal until you try projecting images over 2M diagonal. This is a very heavy lens. There are some blemishes on the surface of the lens, but in my experience of using it, this hasn't caused visible ill effects during projection. I have built a brace for the lens which I would sell with it.
UD Precision Lens Delta XX : This lens has never been used in any of my projection projects. Due to its short throw, it may only be of use to those designing rear projection systems. Even so, this item is made of three discrete lenses, of which the center () shaped lens (forgive me, I forget what it's called) may be useful to someone looking to gather and focus/unify a lightsource.
14" Double sided OHP fresnel set : Those who have read these forums properly know exactly what this is for, and also, how difficult they can be to get hold of. I did have two but I melted one 🙄.
Lobay 400W Metal Halide setup including the following:
One sylvania 400W MH bulb, with about 20 hours of use. The bulb is rated to last around 1000hours; Electronic ballast and firing system; metal bulb housing and ceramic fitting; Low grade heat resistant glass front; Ellipsoid reflector made of highly reflective aluminium.
The above items ( i.e. the lighting setup) has cost me a total of £110, and I am looking for a price that reflects the amount I originally paid.
I hope it's ok for me to advertise these items here, I found nothing in the forum rules that warned against it. I would much rather these items went to projection enthusiasts than anywhere else.
