A bud has a bathroom fan which causes a loud click on the line when turned on and I think when turned off as well. He can hear the glitch on the line in a near by living room on his stereo. He had the fan put on a separate line and he has dedicated lines for audio in the living room.
I was considering suggesting he place a line rated x capacitor across both the wall switch and also across the fan motor to filter this noise. Does anyone have any experience dealing with type of noise and what size cap would be appropriate? I believe the fan was changed out for a new one a year or so ago in hopes of eliminating the issue, not sure if he changed the switch but will suggest he do that also in case it is decades old and arcs on activation. Thanks for any assistance with this. Best regards Moray James.
