Family planning

Plan B of course is to have so many children you can't afford a hobby any more. I have told wife I am stopping at 6.

There were six of us growing up in the 1950's. We were the happiest family on the block. Then again, all the families felt they were the happiest on the block and the number of small fry ranged from zero to twelve.

There were 48 kids in my first grade class, my wife had 60 in the Bronx.

The 10 year old boy is a "slacker." He doesn't want to do anything except play video games. .

Video games can really take over your life if you aren't careful.
I went through a period in the 1990's where all I did was play video games.
I completely lost my fitness and put on lots of weight.

It is too easy to sit in front of a screen and interact with a game.

I got over it in the end and took on more fruitful hobbies like electronics, audio and software. Still in front of a screen a lot but at least I get out a bit for exercise in between times. I build speaker boxes for a hobby and that keeps me quite fit.

Hopefully the lad will eventually get bored with it and become more adventurous.
