It looks used, with a used heatsink. Many end item manufacturers pay semiconductor manufactures like ST to put "house brand" numbers on their parts, to keep the customers in the "authorized service" shop. This also keeps the authorized service shops from buying their parts somewhere cheaper. No telling what these house brand parts are unless the manufacturer is generous and provides a cross sheet, like Peavey does.

@ andrewlebon I checked its not listed there. also it dosent look some old from 80s.
@ indianajo. yes used. I have mounted it on heat-sink was trying to use it. so later thought what must be its rating . saw the stamp of ST so logged its website and was trying to to find this part. and that is how I started to doubt for its genuine.

I bought this mosfet. from local market its part no is P10N70. But i don't find this listed on ST website.
can somebody tell if its fake or real. I have attached its pic.
Why worry about fake or real? This is for (SMPS) power supply not audio. I believe you don't need voltage specification close to 700V. There is no other specifications that is critical or difficult to produce.
From the look of it, I think it is a fine product. I have seen worse looking product in commercial computer power supply. If they work, then it is fine imo.
I would be more worried about static damage to the gate if it has been handled in the state it is in the photo
Maybe a discontinued product? Or a OEM version?

No worries if its discontinued or OEM. but wonder if its OEM how was it made available in local market?

I agree if they work then its fine. This is selected for flyback powersupply.
as per calculation the worst case VDS required id 689V. ( provided the leakage inductance is consistant) .
I am worried about this being Stamped as ST. If its made fake this way then I dont know its performance over the time. which is always taken into account while design.

Humm... 🙂 I did take care of it while handling. 🙂
