That's why an old VT manufacturer (Arcturax, I believe) actually used blue glass to make their VTs.
I'm putting chrome spinners on my fans, so when I shut the amp off it still looks like it's pumpin'...I tried them on my knobs but then I couldn't get the controls to work, they just spun around...
I think my next amp is gonna need a BIG spoiler,and 20-30 automotive/racing stickers. That should add another 10W to the output!
The Blackstar-HT LED of Post#1 appears to me amber, perhaps orange...
Anyways, they did at least try to match a reasonable cathode color.

How about with a laser LED ? The light is amplified in the laser, and so the tube will have more amplification too .... ideal for a phono stage....
