There is a new rave review of home speakers using 1.4" TexTreme CD, Oaudio Icon-12. Only candidates seem to be FaitalPro HF1460 and Eminence N314X, with the former at double the price at $730/each. Any experience with either one? (Rooting for cheaper one to be as good...)
BTW, anyone recognize the horn or the 12" driver used in that speaker? Hoping for DIY/oem alternatives.

I don't think they make the eminence anymore btw but the SB Audience 65cdnt sounds as good (maybe slightly better) to my ear. No experience with the Faital
That's good to know because the price point of SB Audience 65CDN-T is certainly a lot friendlier. Edge-of-art diaphragms like Be and Carbon seem to be pushing the resonance frequency higher and higher, but I personally enjoy the Titanium sparkle near 10-12kHz. I currently have B&C DE880TN 1.4" Titanium clone and enjoy its sound. I wonder if SB Audience Titanium version would be enough of an upgrade when considering presumably similar Ti sound..?
