The original Fairchild analogs to these devices were KSC5200/KSA1943. 😉

Or even better yet, the 150w TO-264 package FJL4315/FJL4215.
They have good models too... now if only they had some good TO-220 drivers!

Very nice, but with the Toshiba TO-264 2sc5200/2sa1943 still easily available for just over a dollar in quantity, I can't see the TO-220 versions picking up unless they're priced at 50 cents or so. However, the TO-3P 2sc5242 looks more interesting to me - sacrifices just 20W in Pd and can be retrofitted in legacy TO-3 mountings (it's better than the 2sc5198/2sa1941 TO-3P pair for this purpose).

Good thing about them being available from Fairchild is that you can buy direct from Fairchild - even if you're a hobbyist. This means you are guaranteed genuine devices.
In the UK, I've not once seen anyone actually selling "Toshiba" branded ones - if you find them, theyre Magnatec.

Out here, Magnatec and most Fairchild devices (except some small signal stuff) are unobtainium. But Toshiba is available in quantity, probably sourced from wholesale distributors in Singapore. The genuine 2sc5200/2sa1943 pair is sometimes 50% of the price of the Chinese fakes at retail here - go figure...
Meanwhile, on the subject of transistors with interesting specs - check out the Sanyo 2sc3807. Vceo=25v, fT=260 MHz, Ic=2A, Cob=27pF and hFE=800..3200 - not a darlington! These are available retail here for about $0.20, and almost all of them have hFE > 1500.

as far as linearity (beta vs. Ic) i think the MJL3281/1302 xistors still have them beat, but they (C5200/A1943) are also stabilized beta devices and are more linear than MJ15024/15025 devices (which for a long time were the "standard" output devices in american audio designs).

These are fast, for being TO-220, with same Ft, 30MHz, as MJE15030/31.
But
- they can take more power/heat. Rjc = 1.25 C/W (MJE15031 = 2.5 C/W )
- they have maybe? similar current gain as MJE15031
Usage? .... some ideas, for the TO-220 variant:
.. drivers for high/very high power output stages
.. potent hifi headphone output stage
.. higher power hifi line pre-amplifier output

How easy/difficult will it be to find dealers .. in most part of world?
The really interesting package would be TO-264, 150 Watts.
But will they be easily & commonly available?

I just downloaded the data sheets on these Fairchild transistors. It is sad to see that they do not have any ft vs collector current graphs. Their models are probably more trustworthy than those from OnSemi, but the OnSemi datasheets seem to have more information.

I wanted to see the same Curve of GBW ( Ft = transistion frequency, is it? ) to current level.
But maybe in some other PDF of similar device, the have it?
Otherwise we will have to do some good guesses.

Such extreme hFE is not always favorable (depending on your application). The higher the beta, the lower the Early voltage. The product of these two parameters is fairly constant: 10k...20k.

Such extreme hFE is not always favorable (depending on your application). The higher the beta, the lower the Early voltage. The product of these two parameters is fairly constant: 10k...20k.
