It's a little involved. You have to de-solder the wires from the old board and solder them on to the new one. Disassembly/assembly isn't too bad, but it has some tricky bits. Be careful removing the rubber isolation feet so they dont rip.
Definitely check the spindle. Make sure CDs fit onto it the same way the do with the existing spindle. As I mentioned, I got a clip-style replacement, which doesn't work in this unit.

Thanks, he has bought a kit of rubbers so it would be fine. I can do the soldering for him, so no problem for it.
