hardly any improvement

put second Graetz + C bank , and make double mono

then you'll have improvement

but - be aware that DC voltage will rise slightly (less sag due to less load per xformer) , so with 25Vdc caps , you're there , in danger zone

Indeed. I went dual mono a year ago, and noticed that the amp became quieter. Music emerges from a "black" background. A worthy modification IMO. A second dual-mono F4 is in progress. A wonderful amp.
