dunno bro, had 2 hrs of sleep tonight, woke up early and was on road for next 8hrs
now I'm eager only to get something in my belly and to catch some zzz
so, being fuzzy and upside down, not really ready for mental 'rhytmetic
no one would be happier that I can get 2SJ2145 from 2SK2145, but somehow I'm suspicious, before doing my own tests
or reading some Gargantuan Character laying down testing results
not suspicious per se, just avoiding to be overly optimistic

Some double Dutch stuff going on. For the J175, designed by Philips, it says:
Silicon symmetrical p-channel junction FETs - intended for application with analog switches, choppers, commutators etc.
A special feature is the interchangeability of the drain and source connections.
now test, can you make complementary buffer with pair of 2SK170
then, can you make F5 with pair of 2SK170 in FE

then, can you make F5 with pair of 2SK170 in FE

No, an N-Fet will never behave as a P-Fet, so complementary N-P is impossible with two devices, even if S and D are interchangeable in some J-FET devices.
See also J111 / J112 / J113 N-Channel jFET. "Features - Source & Drain are interchangeable." It is the die that is symmetric. But no, you don't change it's behaviour.
That was not my original question of pins outlay versus tester output; otherwise we would have a way to make gold sort of.

well, ZM is one who'll never stop (repetitive) dreaming
whatever painful (repetitive) wake up is
