Thanks for your thanks. It's my pleasure to help you to get the best deal for assembling this great amp.

I just realized that I might also ship via Hermes Europe. In my hands, Hermes is cheap, reliable but slow. Hermes also has size classes but doesn't seem to exhibit distance zones as DHL and GLS do. Maximum weight is 25 kg. Here are the Hermes rates (I couldn't find an English overview):

All these F5x are stereo amplifiers.
Has anyone considered using a quad secondary transformer?
We still have isolation between channels, we still have the option use use dual bridges on each channel.

We potentially can save weight and save cost and save space and save on transport costs.
Is it too late to look at a single 1kVA 4*16Vac transformer? Rather than two 600VA transformers.

I plan to post the results of a few experiments on reducing the primary current draw when on no load, i.e. lower core flux when on the UK's 240Vac mains supply.
Maybe applicable to other voltage supplies where the core flux as supplied is far too high leading to excessive losses.

So maybe it is better for you to go with a US GB (if there is one in the pipe).

On the other hand, it might be possible that you don't have to pay the European Union VAT (23% in Poland). Goods delivered outside the EU are tax exempt.

I don't know whether it is possible to ship directly from Poland to Malaysia. In this case, it might be easier to send the goods tax free.

Would you have to pay Malaysian import duties and fees?

Hi Heinz,
It will be great if you are able to ship from Poland and tax free. Please let me know. In this case, I don't think I'll wait for the US GB. Please go ahead and order mine as well. Most probably import duties will be imposed.

Hi PMChoong,

there is a small misunderstanding. I won't be able to ship tax free from Poland, the manufacturer must do so. I only can ship from Germany and if the seller sends me your stuff he must charge European VAT.

But there was this discouraging comment by Patrick in an earlier post:

Choong, Heinz1,

As a private person, you can never claim the VAT back even if you ship it overseas.
The goods is first delivered within the EU, and the VAT is already being put on.
And you have NO Proof that the actual good is being shipped.

It might well be that the shipment costs from the US is comparable.
The last time they shipped two to Mark Lai for the proto, the shipment cost is more than 1 transformer.

The unfortunate situation of DIYers in Asia I am afraid.
