100R eliminated experiment responce
Hi! How it is went ? Have you tried with only two 100R feedback resistors?
I need to get more gain and more warm sound, is it a good way to obtain it?
Thanks in advance.
Papa,
That means less NFB. You must have reasons why selects R 50R/10R for NFB rather than 100R/10R which has more gain.
What the price of "Take out one each of the parallel 100 ohm feedback resistors " we have to paid -- more distortion? poor bandwidth?
And the most important, how that impact to the sound?

its a pity this thread never finished with some, excuse the punt, "feedback" on how
the F5 sounded with some capacitance across the feedback resistors, or taking out one each feedback resistor.
I also would like to knock a whisker off the top end on my F5. In my case, gain isn't a problem.
Its just a tad bright for a lot of my recordings, whereas on other recordings the F5 sounds o' so yummy
Has anyone tried to tone the F5 down, if so what route did you take and how's the resulting sound please?

Different approach than bandwidth limiting, but have you tried adjusting "P3"? That may be just the ticket for you.
Yes I did have a play with P3 using FFT.
Tried various scenario's, H2 & 3 equal, H3 dominant ect.
I settled for H2 dominant with about 50% H3. Its a great feature!
I do have more to gain I think by spending more time with P3
What increment do you suggest Nelson, ~5% or is that too aggressive?
... snail, yeah I know. Thats fine with me, half the fun
