Hi All,
I have finally begun building an F5 amplifier that I bought the boards for about 10 years ago. Life happened and the build just had to be shelved. I have a couple of questions that I need help with. I am slightly above novice range when it comes to electronics, so please be patient with me. My Previous build experience includes a pair of ACAs and a Bottlehead Quickie.
1) I am also a woodworker. I realize that there are parts of this amp that will get hot. If I have appropriate heat sinking, and the base plat of the chassis is steel, would it be safe to build the rest of the enclosure out of hardwood?
2) I know it may be in the build guide, but how do I compute the amount of heat sinking necessary to keep this amp cool enough?
3) I forget what else I was going to ask.

The base plate would need lots of holes for natural convection, or a fan.
These should get you started.

Another thing is to reference the build guide corresponding to your F5 PCBs,
since it's possible you may have an older version.

Wood is not a great idea given it doesn't isolate from all kinds of nearby interference. Maybe line it with aluminum sheet?
Very interesting build! Would love to see more photos, is the power supply on board or external?
Thanks
