Hi,
If I get an f3 of 66hz from a closed-box how much difference will
the loading by the room make ? How does this happen ?
Will, mounting the driver closer to the lower end of the cabinet make a big difference ?
Will using 2 drivers in parallel improve the output ?

Do a search on room gain - I believe Kelticwizard posted some graphs.
I'd reckon on needing a sub for full range....
""Will, mounting the driver closer to the lower end of the cabinet make a big difference ?""
I doubt a "big" difference
""Will using 2 drivers in parallel improve the output ?""
Sensitivity wise, yes - won't lower the f3 though. need to eq or port or TL ...

Rob,
Thanx for the info.
I'll lookup on the wizards reply.
BTW, I've more or less decided on
a proper side-firing woofer.
Cheers,
sunil

Here is a link to a discussion where I give liks to the charts. there is also a Baffle Diffraction Chart.
There are other threads where I posted that room gain chart, too.
Hope it helps.

I don't see Keltic's link.
Think of the speaker operating in four conditions: free space, on an infinite wall, on a wall and floor (or ceiling) and on two perpendicular walls and floor (corner) -- for each of these settings the speaker is "coupling" into a different mechanical impedance.
