Re: Pay for F5, cancel F4
TF020 are not that universal as other resistors, more often that not, there are better resistor choices.
Got your payment, thanks.

I'm receiving a lot of inquiries if it's not too late to place an order yet.
It is not a problem, and you can order as many pcbs as you wish, even if your name wasn't on WIKI.
F3/f4 payment info was posted here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/show...605#post1680605

BTW, I made arrangements for a Christmas gift for Nelson, and it will be dedicated from everybody participating in this group buy 😎

a little help
I understand half the fun is figuring out the parts required for these projects but I have a limited time in the US over the holidays and I was wondering if anyone has compiled a BOM (digikey, mouser, .etc) for F3, F4 or F5 and is willing to share.
thanks in advance,
pathmark

Hi Peter,
What is the lead spacing for non power resistor on the F4 boards? 0.15'' or 0.2''?
Thanks in advance !

Re: a little help
I have a spreadsheet of resistors that I have created.
Maybe this will help.
The problem sometimes is, do you want the papa parts, which are quite affordable, even cheaper parts, or Bentley style parts with 12$ resistors. you can make a parts list on either mouser or digi-key which is handy to save and review later.
Here are the values anyways, helps me to search around my parts pile.. double check values from schematic. I think a few of us might admit to ordering resistors with radial leads or SMD resistors by mistake.
You can get most all of this stuff from Digikey. The FETS I recommend Tech-Diy.

totally OT... but how does one normally provide a download link to a file (as opposed for eg to a photo?) Wouldn't I need to host it somewhere?

You're a good man Peter. Thanks.
thanks
mithomas,
thanks so much for the list it is very helpful. i realize making a parts from schematic is not that difficult it is just reassuring sometimes to have a parts list from people working off the same boards. sometimes tracking down the parts required takes way more time than any assembly!
thanks again,

F3/F5 Biamp compatibility
Dear Peter,
Do you think these two amps sound enough alike to make for a good bi-amping pair?
I would like the idea of using F3 for your recommended mids and highs and F5 for below 500 hz.
Speakers sound different enough, it seems to me, without making them sound even more different, right?
As always, your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Since I didn't built F5 (nor F4 for that matter) it's hard for me to comment on a sound. I can speculate that they might come close, but you may check 6moons reviews, as this would give you the best idea.
Another option would be using F3 as highs/mids amp and also to drive F4 (so F3 acts as line stage for F4). That would be proabably as close tonally as you can get with those two amps.
Such approach was described on page 4 of the manual here: http://www.firstwatt.com/downloads/f4_om.pdf
