Very true. Read everything over at Pass Laboratories and FIRST WATT HOME. This not only will give you a very good idea of how to design an amplifier, but also what topology you want.
I'd sell the amp and build something real.

Efficient speakers help, but the key is a benign impedance (ie it doesn't like most XOs), and a shape that is complimentary to the FR. Remember this is a current amplifier.
It works divinely with a set of FonkenPrime.
