I built a pair of F1 clones, dual mono. (Still without housing..) But with my old "voltage" Speakers sounds the F1 very fat. I added an 8 Ohm resistor parallel to output. It sounds now better, the middle and top are pretty good, bottom is still a bit fat, round. So, I´m thinking about a configuration F1 with Manger transducer. Has anyone had experience with this combo?
Mr.Pass, I read your post here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=532327#post532327 , you have listened Manger. Are the Manger F1 compatible?
Thank you.

Not particularly. They seem to appreciate some damping
factor, and perhaps even a little more power. Of course you
can hook them up without problems - I just think there are
probably more appropriate amplifiers.

Mr Pass,
what do you think? Is 125 watts pure class A from Threshold SA/6e is too much for Manger Transducer in Acustik-Lab Stella Elegans connecting through its active crossover? I am asking because i bought a pair of these speakers and hooked them with Threshold. After about an hour one Manger start making distorting noise which is a knd of in mid bass range. Has too much power of 125 watts damage the Manger or it can be something else?
Thanks for your reply.

amp clipping is much more dangerous to speaker than powerful amp used with enough brain ;
I used for a year Hafler DH200 with LS3/5-like spks , without troubles
so - in your case - either your Mangers have heavy and unfortunate pre-history , or you didn't visited ear-doctor lately
conclusion - too much amp watts can't be a problem
