Fall is coming and I need a new project for winter. As I'm buying a pair of fantastic F1 boards made by Chas on order to play with some fullranges in OB, the question is:
Is it worth to search for very expensive Semisouth to make it F1J?

you need pair of SS per channel for F1J
and it is 10W jobbie, for 100W of heat per channel
and you need special speakers to be driven with 10W amp with no feedback
and you can make fully fledged J2 (whatever clone ) with 2 pcs of SS per channel, which will give ya more of Romantic Talian Renaissance 2nd dominant, which is going good with Chianti and Pasta

I’ve been using a standard F1 on JBL 4310’s for months in my 2nd system and enjoying it. It is using Chas’ boards. My pair of SS’s will be going into a J2 clone.
I feel a bit guilty, but I just moved my F1J to the woofers with my N-channel VFET on the FR of my Papa speaker open baffle build.

That's were I had the F1J. The F1J was great there and great on the woofers. It's nice to have that versatility.
I'll try the VFET on the woofers next, just to see. (Better put my comment flame suit on first.)
