Brought this about 6 weeks ago i was hoping to swap out the volume pots and try some AVC volume controls as a experiment but they are to big to fit in the case work (would foul the pcb). This is the better R2 version direct coupled (no coupling caps) is in very good condition only a few very minor marks.Sounds good for the price point but i think it would be even better with decent volume pots (the ones in there dont look very good) and a good power supply.Comes with a UK 24V wall wart.

FWIW ...
This is a rare and classic unit in what appears to be pristine condition.
From a purely mercenary standpoint, modifications to the piece will reduce its value.
Good luck with the sale

Alright, but who thought it was a good idea to leave that chasm of empty space? Was it for big film caps??This is a rare and classic unit in what appears to be pristine condition.

If it were mine I'd squeeze in a headphone amp and a class D amp and run the whole thing on +/-15V.

It was to make the depth commersurate with other commercial products.
Build it on vero-board and it'd be the size of a matchbox - ask me how I know 🙂

Coz I built in on vero board and it was the size of a matchbox ;-)I have to ask.How do you know?
Simple ! you start here 2in X 2in , you don't get 2sk 170 mached pair ? no problem ...you turn over and get others choice ... you cut board(follow the lines) and you get 2in X 2in X about 3/4 to 1in h... not exactly a match box but here you get lot of choice.
