Just wondering if anyone has any experience "baking" smt components.

My brother bought a toaster over solely for this purpose. His first bake was a bit overdone, but it seemed to do the trick.

Is it possible to use the toaster oven on the smt components and then solder in the rest of the thru whole components?

I used the toaster oven. You really need a stencil for this to work, though.

ezDAC v. 1.5 tested

Hello,

carefully mounted and soldered, choosed: Tent XO, Dale 24,9 ohm resistors, extra low ESR electrolytics, mica capacitors, Wima red bypass cap, NS LME49710 op-Amps.

Double supply: 3.3 V separated and 5-15/-15 together, less than 50 uV ripple on 3.3 V.

Measured 0,8 mV offs. on left ch, 1,2 mV on right

Driven by a 60 $ DVD-reader SPD/IF output, listen with a own designed Hi-End head-amp, Beyer 960 delivers an incredible sweet and detailed sound.

I'm surprised and happy.

Bye and thanks
