...should this be encouraged?

I mean, what, if any, hard information is available at this point to make a recommendation on eg the op's power supply configuration, loading, voltages, a definition of "better" or at the least an understanding of the perceived shortcomings of the current device, ANYTHING?

Even, god forbid, some indication of the manfacturer of the existing device?

Or is it reasonable to just shuffle around in the dark throwing random recommendations out for the consumption of anyone who stumbles into the thread?

let me guess Ty - lows are lower, highs are higher, soundstage is wider and deeper and musical artifacts leap out where you have never noticed them before.

The device cancels extraneous noise from outside your listening space and books you the best seats at MSG for a reunion concert with Ella Fitzgerald and Fats Domino.

It also cures dandruff.
