i have seen the usage of this circuit in poweramps to "muffle" toroids and protect them from some noice on the AC lines (if someone uses a diod to dim a light)
but my question is should it be placesd before or after the ac-line filter i plan to use?
I believe the cap shoud be 2200µF/35V for good results

I use this circuit to remove constant component from mains supply(our mains is quiet poor). It was described in review of LAMM1.1 It helps to prevent hum from trafos and works well.
You can play with value of resistor to obtain different sound from Your system. Usually, for power amp it has to be less than for sources. Add a couple of cap at both sides to reduce EMI noises.
Practice shows that single circuit for every box works better than one in line conditioner for all units. Anyway it worth to try.
