I have a small commercially built powered mixer that has developed a nasty habit of eating TDA1514As on one side.
This has me utterly bamboozled - and as these chips are getting a bit pricey I'd like to stop the carnage. The fault occurs when operating at modest output levels and not overly hot.
Any insights appreciated.

Check the power supply going to these chips. If it's too high, or way out of spec, you will have to diagnose why. Something is causing the chips to blow.

The fault occurs when operating either the unit's own PSU or a regulated =/- 22 volt bench psu, delivering less than 10 watts into an 8 ohm load. No excessive heat, chips don't do anything spectacular like rail latch up - simply stop functioning.
