You knew the answer before raising it: "what are the appropiate books to succeed?", in the unknown horizon? If someone wanted to understand Kant, I would never recommend just picking up anything written by Kant. You need someone to break it down into digestible servings way before you actually read Kant as written.
Kant is another smart endevour, but in your field, it's appropiate to start with Campbell, Frazer, Dante(?). Just to get 'aligned'.
It's not only what you're asking, but also why (& others) are in dire need of references.
H&Hill is a masterpiece, I gave my edition to my (recently promoted nephew aka 'clone') to reach for his future stars.
That's a very fine way to climb the mountain. Alas, not surmountable ideals anymore in our privileged times - everything is commerce now, no trade, no endevour. Many older Japanese stereo receivers, tuners, amps service manuals have descriptions of the inner workings, some are better than others, but refer to block diagrams if you can’t make out the schematics. Associate the block diagrams to the pics showing innards, some detail where each assembly or device resides.
So... 👍But without the other half of the ground you miss the glue that binds the knowledge together.
As you said, the internet is big, and online resources are indeed abundant—even overwhelming. Yet, the pain point remains: finding exactly what you need, right when you need it.
Wide range of amps out there, assume typical 3 stage amp for many examples.
Differential input, gain stage, then high current output stage for driving the load.
Would read Douglas Self or Bob Cordell books.
Stay away from nonsense AI at all costs.
Building the circuits and testing can also be done virtually without blowing stuff up....yet
Once wrapping your head around a generic example.
Each stage has its own set of details for operation. Hence the whole book worth of info.

It might be worth pointing out a bit more about the classic 3-stage power amp:
Input Stage (IS) - differential voltage input with current output, a.k.a. transconductance stage.
Voltage Amplification Stage (VAS), current input, voltage output with very high gain (a.k.a high transimpedance for a current-in, voltage-out stage, typically 5000 or more at low frequencies)
Output Stage (OS), typically push-pull (aka class B or sometimes AB), no voltage gain, but super-high current gain (10000 times perhaps)
And back from the output to the input is the voltage feedback network, turning much of the high voltage gain into increased linearity with stable well-defined gain.
So each stage has a very specific function to do in this design.
Other designs (topologies) are seen too, but this one is the classic.

Post #25 and comment #26 are fundamental. To get the glue between the bricks of knowledge, read as much as possible Application Notes (AN###) from the past, many are on the net. Before everything was digitized, much effort was put into these explanations so engineers would use the suggested components.
When you read them repeatedly, the pattern emerges in your thinking.
With one side gifted with electronic patterns recognition and memorization, and the other with the arts and creation patterns recognition and memorization, my autistic brain has no space left for normal things like languages, social medias and avoiding the obvious. My initial contribution in this topic is not the best, I admit. Also, I promise, I shall not post my vogonian poems here either.
